On treatment for diabetes mellitus since 6 months. The application of 70 alcohol to the affected area with subsequent removal of the hyperpigmented plaque from the patients skin. Further care with Vaseline was recommended and the patient was advised to repeat the treatment with isopropyl alcohol in case of recurrence of the skin changes.

After 1 week we were able to see normal skin and treatment was completed Fig. Missing the diagnosis may lead to invasive and unnecessary investigations. Lesions can be removed with vigorous rubbing with soap and water often repeated over the course of multiple weeks.

DISCUSSION TFFD was first described in 1987 and started to be re-ported much more recently34. TFFD appears as a type of skin discoloration resembling dirt resistant to water and soap 2.
